http://www.digg.com. They allow you to post your blog articles for free, and if people like it, they simply have to "digg" it. You will find that a lot of the popular blogs out there get a large percentage of their traffic from this site.

Another great site, although they don't always bring in quality traffic, is Blog Explosion. It's basically a blogging community site that allows other bloggers to view your blog. If you have a good AdSense account or you are a part of a BlogTopSite, this is definitley a good site to join up. Click the banner below to sign up for free.
Once you have a good amount of traffic coming into your site, I would recommend joining a topsite for blogs located here: http://www.blogtopsites.com . A great site to also research how the bigger blogs are getting their traffic.

It's been happening to a lot of people.
It's interesting that you mention that, 'Anonymous', because sure enough, not long after I joined Blog Explosion, did I get an email from Google's compliance dept., basically giving me a warning for unauthorized and/or automated clicks.....
